< Retired Marine Captain beats down rowdy guy on plane. >His wife doesn't even look up from the book she's reading... she knew how the situation would end. QUOTE Hayden's wife of 42 years, Katie, who was also on the flight, was less impressed. Even as her husband struggled with the agitated passenger, she barely looked up from "The Richest Man in Babylon," the book she was reading.
"The woman sitting in front of us was very upset and asked me how I could just sit there reading," Katie Hayden said. "Bob's been shot at. He's been stabbed. He's taken knives away. He knows how to handle those situations. I figured he would go up there and step on somebody's neck, and that would be the end of it. I knew how that situation would end. I didn't know how the book would end." Posted by GORDON on Jun. 28 2007,12:39

< 71 year old ex Marine shoots 2 guys robbing a Subway sub shop. >Hearsay sez: QUOTE The robbers walk in and demand money from the lone clerk. One of the robbers walks up to the old guy eating his Veggie Delight and demands his valuables as well. Ex-Marine pulls out 500$ and slams it on the table and tells the two guys to fuck off. The robbers start harrassing the guy and pull him up and start pushing him into the bathroom. Guy pulls out a gun and shoots one in the head and chest, and while the other is running off, gets a shot off on him as well. Then he probably sat back down and finished his sandwich using their still warm blood as ketchup. Posted by GORDON on Jun. 29 2007,09:12

70 year old Marine saves cruise passengers.< http://www.sciencedaily.com/upi....ise.xml > QUOTE The Legend passengers were taking a private tour of the town of Limon when three armed men confronted them, the New York Daily News reported. Passengers said the unidentified former Marine took immediate action, grabbing one of the gunmen and snapping his neck. "Thank God, he's a hero," said Tony Barry, a New York native who lives in Florida. "Everybody thought it was great what he did." "It was a horror," Bill Phillips of Long Island told the newspaper. "From the moment I stepped off the ship, I knew it was very dangerous." Crewmembers reportedly warned passengers about the dangers of the port town, the Daily News said. "Carnival knew it was a dangerous place, so I don't understand why they even took us there," says Louis Cuglietto, of Paramus, N.J. No charges were filed against the former Marine, the newspaper said. Jesus. It gives me chills. And erect nipples. Posted by Leisher on Jun. 29 2007,12:30

Former Marine refuses to pay extortion money to a union.Badass in a different way. < http://www.foxnews.com/us....ine-job > QUOTE Massachusetts lawmakers passed an amendment on Monday expected to save the job of a public high school ROTC instructor who refused to pay teachers union fees. State senator Richard R. Tisei introduced legislation last week on behalf of Maj. Stephen L. Godin, a retired Marine and ROTC instructor who was told he'd get the ax if he didn't chalk up a $500 teachers union "agency fee." On April 6 those plans were cast aside when insurgents launched deadly attacks on the Marines throughout the city. ... Marines fought with insurgents throughout the city in running gun battles that day. By the time the dust settled 12 Marines had been killed in action that day, a devastating loss for a single infantry battalion. .... But back in 2004 the Pentagon still planned on reducing U.S. forces in Iraq and turning security responsibility over to Iraqis. Washington had yet to realize the size of the insurgency it was facing. The Magnificent Bastards found out. They fought back hard against the insurgents after the initial April 6 attack, refusing to give an inch. "The next day we ended up killing a hefty number of bad guys," Weiler said. On the third day, the Marines went around with megaphones, challenging the insurgents to come out and fight. "We ridiculed them and antagonized them and begged them to come out and fight," Weiler said. There were no takers. Posted by GORDON on Aug. 22 2014,22:27
