I thought the same thing here. Then the courts overturned the legality of the cameras.

People in Houston just voted to get rid of the cameras.Houston just said, "Hey hey hey, people can't just vote and decide to eliminate city ordinances."

Our new mayor has crappy politics, but she tends to do the right thing (as she sees it to be, which is where I would disagree with her on most points). I have a feeling she'll do what she can to follow the wishes of the voters on this one.

One wonders why all these hackers, like Anonymous, go after Sony instead of these red light camera companies. You want to talk about oppressing the people? Look no further than this money grab portrayed as a safety initiative.
