< Refuses service to a soldier with a firearm. >QUOTE “We are well aware that different people and businesses have varying opinions regarding this issue, and we respect the right of all to have different opinions. However, we continue to believe this is the best policy for the safety of our customers and associates." So I assume Waffle House also refuses service to on duty police officers? Also, isn't it odd that a guy with a gun was refused service, yet politely left and didn't shoot the place up? Odd that the gun didn't kill everyone there. Posted by TPRJones on Sep. 30 2015,09:07
I'm pretty sure those are heavily franchised, and it's not about an overall corporate policy. If so it's not that Waffle House hates the military and guns, it's that that particular Waffle House hates the military and guns.I know that's not their policy everywhere as I remember at the Waffle House in Bryan which was near the gun range on the weekends there'd frequently be people there field cleaning their pistols while waiting for their food. Waffle Houses are never franchised. That being said, I'm guessing the manager of that restaurant has their own policy that is not a corporate policy. Posted by TPRJones on Sep. 30 2015,10:01
(TheCatt @ Sep. 30 2015,11:48) QUOTE Waffle Houses are never franchised. QUOTE After opening a fourth restaurant in 1960, the company began franchising its restaurants[2] and slowly grew to 27 stores by the late 1960s, before growth accelerated. I can find no indication of the ratio of franchise to corporate locations currently, but even on their own website they talk about both categories existing. Posted by TheCatt on Sep. 30 2015,10:48
