So they're fucking everywhere, but haven't really annoyed me because people are actually donating money to the cause at a record rate.

< The Foo Fighters got pretty creative with their video. >

< Charlie Sheen, of course, takes it the next level. > I mean, this is just brilliant. "Hey other rich guys who have pissed me off. Match my $10,000 donation or look like fucking assholes."

Yeah, that's one of those things I'm getting tired of seeing but not wanting to come across like an asshole so I just keep my mouth shut.

Like all the freakin' Robin Williams tributes.

As someone who was tested for ALS 3 times because I had all the symptoms but the test kept coming up negative, I have an opinion about this.

Shit. Realized I didn't link the Foo Fighters' video.

Still, Charlie Sheen wins.

Obama refused to do it and claims to be giving money, but I'll believe that when I see it. He'll probably donate tax payer money...

Meanwhile G.W. just did it and challenged Clinton. I hope Clinton works boobs into his video.

As long as it's not Hillary boob...

Clinton would dump ice-water on some Hooters waitresses. Wet T-Shirt!

PS: one of my FB friends posted something like, "I don't get this," and all the comments were like, "AWARENESS!" and my friend was like, "oh sure I love awareness!"

Fuck Awareness. Post a link to "Pride of the Yankees" or something.

I liked the < Ben Aflek one >(because it was cute).

People suck at the challenge:

Biggest problem I have with all of it is. . . .  I never see any ice in the buckets.  I've seen one video with ice in the water.  But, it was about 7 cubes put in the water right before being dumped.  NO ONE is using actual ice water.  I just want to slap them.

I had this issue as well.  Ice in water for 5 seconds doesnt make the water very cold.

My kid got challenged and did it.  I filled a big bowl with ice and topped it with cold tap water.  It was damned cold but you can't really see the ice in the vid.

Just FYI.

You've got to look at the ground afterwards.

< Matt Damon's ALS challenge. >

He used toilet water because he's a co-founder of water.org which is a group dedicated to getting clean drinking water to the 800 million or 2.5 billion (different numbers in the same article...) who don't have it.

He said it seemed silly to waste clean water doing this challenge when he's so involved with that organization and there's a drought in California.

Ok, I'm not even going to touch the whole "wasting water" thing and how stupid that logic is, but I do have to ask how much water did he waste when he showered to wash off the toilet water?

“It is with sadness and regret that we have indeed ruled this a very tragic, unimaginable accident,” said Fiandaca. “Ms. Johnson was simply trying to help raise money for ALS along with her friends, but she went into hypothermia after pouring a bucket of ice water over her head, and then not changing out of her wet clothes for several hours. The hypothermia went untreated and unfortunately resulted in her death, autopsy pending.”

Yeah.  Totally a bang-bang series of events that offered no interim for reflection and diagnosis.  Was this in the middle of a kegger?  Was everyone wasted?

Destin from Smarter Every Day used dry ice, and let it soak for awhile to get nice and cold.
