< Says prison panel >.QUOTE This decision now only needs to be accepted by Congress. If passed, nearly half of the prisoners incarcerated for drug crimes will be eligible for sentencing reduction (averaging around 25 months), meaning at least 46,000 inmates could be eligible for release after Nov. 1, 2015... Then there's the National Association of Assistant United States Assholes... QUOTE “The strong sentencing scheme that has been in place in place over the last 25 years in our country has contributed to the lowest crime rates in more than a generation,” said the National Association of Assistant United States Attorneys, in a statement. More proof that if this country's legal system were a horse, it'd have to be shot. What a fucktarded statement. Maybe they'd like to take 50% of their work week and put it towards being a guard. I'm torn. On the one hand, I'd like that drugs crimes (possession and selling) basically not get punished (ie. legalization). On the other hand, once people are in prison, I'm guessing they come out worse for society than going in. |
