Well.The Catholic Church can make all the rules they want, but that still doesn't feed a hundred unwed mothers in the hinterlands of Ireland. I would say "yes", but to be fair, there's no mention I can find definitively one way or the other (though Wiki lists him as Atheist). I do think it's safe to say that if he was a firm believer in any religion it would probably be noted somewhere and a bit easier to fond.
