< Interesting article > about the negatives of social media and how it affects the people who create.

You forgot to add: "...as told by Phil Fish, a total fucking douche nugget that does his damndest to make everyone he interacts with despise him."

That is a very biased article.  There are many many more creative people who claim to have nearly 100% positive interactions with their fan base.  The secret is not to be a fucking douche to everyone.

And the Call of Duty example isn't fair either; in that case the entire fan base are douche nuggets.  At least all the Call of Duty players I've met are.  Hardly a representative sample.

What I particularly liked about the little exchange between Beer and Fish that inspired this article is that - essentially - Beer was calling Fish a whiny little bitch, to which Fish responded by throwing a tantrum and then taking his ball and going home, thus proving Beer completely correct in his assessment.

The Beer/Fish debacle is one thing, but there is truth to the fact that the Internet has too many little kids running around yapping their mouths.

Phil Fish might be a dick, but that doesn't make his point wrong.

For example, before the internet did you ever hear Malcolm bashing things? No. See how the internet brings pure adulterated hatred into our lives?  :D

In this case it does, because his basis is biased.  The hatred for Phil is not some sort of generalized internet evil, it's personal and mostly deserved.

On the whole there's a lot more people that are positive than negative, it's just that those who are negative are more prolific.
