Pretty sure the previous record holder used more than just the legs for power. This one is strictly legs.

Wait, how did that qualify for the Sikorsky Prize? The machine is supposed to stay in the 10m square, but it doesn't even come close to fitting in that square.

It doesn't have to fit in the square, it's got to maintain stability in the air above the square's centre, I think. I assume that's to keep any wise-asses from building a plane/glider instead of a chopper.
