I think it's all unfair, everyone talks about the pedestrian that can't hear the Prius but what about the Prius that didn't hear the pedestrian? All pedestrians should be required to carry some sort of device that emits a loud tone that will be audible to all approaching Prius' so they can be aware of them and act accordingly.

They should install some kind of noise making device that draws all that free electricity from those batteries that grow on trees and are totally natural and non polluting during the manufacturing process.Perhaps an audible alarm that says, "Beware, douchebag coming" over and over.
