I pretty much don't believe in equality anymore. The sad fact is: people have differing degrees of ability and...gasp!...sometimes these correlate with race or sex. However, it's a crimethink to believe this. Thus, whenever there's a "gap" between groups (whether white vs. black, or man vs. woman), there MUST be some kind of discrimination going on. < http://articles.businessinsider.com/2012-03....atented > QUOTE It's also important to note that women only hold 5.5 percent of all commercial patents, which are most closely tied to economic growth ... The magnitude of the gender gap in patenting raises the concern that, rather than reflecting comparative advantage or differing tastes by gender, the gap reflects gender inequity and an inefficient use of female innovative capacity. Good grief. It's SIMPLY NOT POSSIBLE that men and women are different, with different abilities or desires. Oh no. It's "gender inequity" that causes this. No doubt "gender inequity" also explains the "gender gap" in, say, Kindergarten teachers or flight attendants. Posted by Leisher on Mar. 09 2012,07:37
QUOTE I pretty much don't believe in equality anymore. I've never believed in it. When the founding fathers wrote that "All men are created equal", they meant that they should all be given the same freedoms and opportunities. They didn't mean that anyone can be Benjamin Franklin. QUOTE given the same freedoms and opportunities Not quite. Nothing is given. Instead, they should all live in a system where their freedom to make their own opportunities is not taken away by kings nor tyrants. But clearly we're all on the same page here. |
