I have heard many media outlets claim that part of the problems is that greek people are notoriously lazy. Imagine if someone in america said that about Mexicans, or something.

I've seen articles on this situation blaming the socialist policies for creating a country that lives off of entitlements, and the thought of having those entitlements taken away, and having to actually work is what is driving the people crazy. I tend to believe that more than "they're inherently lazy", mainly because I see the same thing with welfare families here.
