Aurora is trying to keep a little more than $190,000 it seized from two brothers after one of them was pulled over in a traffic stop that didn't even result in a traffic ticket. Yep that is pretty fucked up. At least charge them with a crime to make it look like a good seizure. If nothing else I would think if you gave it up the IRS would take a big look into the earnings.

The judge ordered the city to return the $190,040, along with a month's interest and costs. But Kinnally said that when he brought the order to Aurora, the city refused to turn over the cash, saying it planned to appeal the judge's order. Aurora argued that the judge had overstepped his authority, but the 2nd District Appellate Court in Elgin rejected the appeal on Monday on technical grounds. That's pretty fucked up right there.It is, also, not all that surprising. And people wonder why I hate government (and especially cops) so much. I hope that a judge rules that Aurora must pay back the money even if they no longer have it, and can make it stick. That should teach those assholes a lesson. Government officials need to have their immunity revoked. THAT would teach them a lesson, if they were responsible for their mistakes.
