< http://www.ginandtacos.com/2010/07/06/it-all-makes-sense-now/ >QUOTE As much as the good liberal inside all of us wants to sing a Fanfare for the Common Man while lecturing ourselves on the nobility and wisdom of the salt-of-the-earth types who populate this country, seeing them usually just makes me sad. If that means I am a terrible person, I am a terrible person. Toothless hillbillies in pro wrestling t-shirts. A pack of juggalo teenagers. Morbidly obese women in halter tops and jorts. Eighteen year old girls and their three children. Sullen, sunburned yokels slapping their children as other sullen, sunburned yokels look on, understanding the impulse and approving of the act. Baggy-panted black kids getting in fistfights. Twitchy, meth-addled white kids picking at their scabs. Mustachioed policemen harassing the former and ignoring the latter.

I've always said it... there's no hate like liberal hate.

QUOTE I spend all day around people who have high levels of education and undergraduates who, even at their worst, are far more engaged and capable than the Average American. Degrees, regardless of the issuing institution or amount of Latin written on them, are by no means an indicator of intelligence. QUOTE At night, rather than going out I tend to stay at home reading what other reasonably intelligent people have to say about the world. Yeah, because there's no better way to get an accurate picture of the world than by just staying home & reading about it. Posted by Leisher on Jul. 07 2010,11:09
QUOTE Degrees, regardless of the issuing institution or amount of Latin written on them, are by no means an indicator of intelligence. I could not agree more. Society somehow developed this belief that someone needs to have a college degree to get any job, and colleges took advantage turning their institutes of higher learning into money printing presses. Want someone with actual job skills who can follow and give orders? Hire a veteran. Want a person who just spent 4 years partying while occasionally attending classes where they talked about theory and didn't actually do anything? Hire a college grad. Yes, I realize that's a broad generalization. Yes, I know there are many examples where both statements are false, but I believe that in a majority of cases, those statements are true. QUOTE At night, rather than going out I tend to stay at home reading what other reasonably intelligent people have to say about the world. In other words: At night I sit home and surf the internet, specifically sites where everyone has the same political leanings that I do. Only people who believe what I believe can possibly have any intelligence. The ignorance and hypocrisy in that "rant" is mind numbingly staggering. Posted by GORDON on Jul. 07 2010,13:02
I've got a theory that the best way to get people to stop talking for 5 minutes in order to open their minds and listen is with a hard punch in the nose. Someone test that for me.
