So apparently ESPN2 aired a Heroes of the Storm tournament over the weekend. (WTF is HotS?)

Anyway, Colin Cowherd declared he'd quit if he was told to cover eSports. < A Yahoo commentator suggests he not waste time and resign now. > I like Cowherd and realize he's a shock jock, but I agree with the article. eSports are a part of sports' future.

Hey I clicked on this one.

Even though I can fully understand what is going on, I still don't take the time to watch LoL tournies, or anything.  Just no time and always 3 other things I'd rather be doing.

I'm not sure EPSN is the right forum for esports.  I would think the viewership for esports are much more likely to be watching on Twitch than ESPN.

Competition is competition.

The mainstream doesn't watch Twitch. Thus, I think ESPN is perfect to begin introducing competitive gaming to the masses. Ask poker.

It's as much a sport as poker.

Fair enough.

But I'm not sure the masses will have enough interest to carry the ratings.
