So this week I have found myself traveling through downtown Toledo 4 times a day taking my kid to zoo school. Been slowed down by tons of people slow taking off at stoplights because they are texting and not paying attention. When I am feeling impatient I am quick to honk to get their asses in gear.This morning I started to honk at a car but stopped myself because the car was full of black people and my exact thought process was,"no need to flare up a nigger moment."
Is that racist? I know it is, just wonder if I am alone in that. Would you honk?

I live in Atlanta. Yes, I honk at black people occasionally.That said, I honk way less than my wife does, she's a bit of an aggressive driver.

I rarely honk, but when I do I don't lay on the horn. I usually do a couple of quick chirps off it to get their attention.As far as race, one of my pet peeves are people that think they're so important that they can't wait in backed up traffic on the interstate like the rest of us and decide to try to ride the emergency lane for a mile or so to get to the next exit. Ran into one of those incidents a couple of years ago and after a couple of cars did that I just moved into the emergency lane and kept up with the interstate traffic effectively blocking the lane for the assholes. A car of black yoots pulled up behind me and honked. I stayed in the lane. They honked some more. I stayed in the lane. When we finally got to the next exit (which split into two lanes) they passed me and one of they guys in the back flipped me off just a fussing. I just waved and smiled.
Absolutely made my day.

Fortunately Houston doesn't fuck around when it comes to emergency lanes. If a cop catches you doing that down here and there's not someone bleeding out in your car that you are taking to the hospital, it's a one-year suspension of your driver's license.

There are two things around here that kill me:1) Those who think they can merge into traffic going 50-60mph as if it were going 20mph or you've got a fucking rocket engine. Fucking asshole truck on the highway nearly caused me to rear end him yesterday because of that. "Yeah, I've got about 3 seconds before he covers the distance between me and him. I can merge into the left lane from a dead stop, no problem." Fuck those people.
2) Those who are scared to death of off-ramps and so drive in the lane to the left of them. One a 3-lane highway, you might note that effectively places a divide between the leftmost passing lane and the off-ramp, creating many opportunities to cause people to run into each other. Fuck those people.

Oh, yeah, I hate that merging thing. As I leave work there's a blind curve that merges into a feeder road and about half the time people just fucking stop at the end of it instead of merging. I make a point of coming to a tire-burning horn-blaring sideways screeching halt right behind them when they do that, to hopefully make the point that they are retarded and will get themselves killed if they don't cut that shit out.

They can kill themselves doing it all they want as long as I'm not in the area. Visual judgements of the speed of cross-traffic should be a standard part of the driving test.
