I'm finding it VERY difficult to hire an entry level technician.  No experience required.  Will train.  $15/hr.  Mileage paid.  I've had two people quit.  (Well, one quit, the other "had his car stolen").  One of the people I hire can not work without supervision.  One of them is working out really well.  I've interviewed a ton of people who all want more than what the job is advertised for.  More money per hour.  More hours.  Etc.  The ad is very detailed and clear on what the job is.  Yet, people waste my time by applying.  Then there are the people that are really excited and have been out of work and are looking for an opportunity like this.  Then, they never return my calls when I'm trying to make a job offer.  They are liars.  I guess everyone is holding out for management positions.

OH, the number of hi-lo operators looking to use their team leadership/management skills at my company is astounding.  I didn't know hi-lo driving was a management training camp thing.

Unemployment numbers are a lie.

And for the record, Marines fall into that last category.

Now I have to call my emergency back up person.  And he HATES it when I call him for work.  ;-)

Can't even find a dumb-ass high schooler that just went broke over spring break and needs cash for a shitty car?  They don't make them anymore?

The government pays more for them to stay home.
