Who do the Dems run after this second Obama term. Eight years is a long time, so the whole "it's Bush's fault" will have less weight for a lot of folks.

Meanwhile, the Republicans are bound to stop talking about rape, and I'm betting will find a candidate that isn't a multi-millionaire that the MSM can tell folks "doesn't represent you".

Granted, the Dems will blame the next four years on "the party of no" since they control the House, but still, that's only going to work on the Dem's core base.

Does anyone think Biden has a snowball's chance in hell? His pasty white ass won't get the black (and totally not racist) turnout that Obama did. Nor will young people line up to vote for him. Do you see him getting the "cool" vote or the female vote?

I can see them trying to follow up with another "ground-breaking" moment in the history of politics when they bring Bill back into the White House as the First Dude.  He should grow a beard and party Lebowski style.

Right now there is a 33 year old black guy who makes wayne brady look like malcolm x working in some community college, somewhere. He will be selected by The Party to a state legislature in 2014. He will be president in 2016.

Furthermore, The Party already knows who this man is.  You don't spend a billion dollars on an election and have a plan that only goes forward 4 years.

Along those lines, maybe the 4 year plan doesn't include an election in 2016, at all.

< Does 2 scandals in a week > eliminate Christie?

I don't think he'd ever win a Republican primary to begin with.  He's too mainstream to sway the conservative Christians that run the party.

He's getting Palin'd and he's not even in the race yet.

Yeah, "scandals"

Yep.

Chris Christie is an asshole, but he seemed like the right sort of asshole.  But no, he < just told his entire state to go fuck itself > (by vetoing a New Jersey state bill passed nearly unanimously that had the approval of 97% of his constituents) for no other reason than because he wants to be President and it would have played poorly in Iowa.  I don't give much of a crap about the pigs or this bill, but that is exactly the sort of political bullshit that I thought he wouldn't do and was the only reason I had any interest in him as a candidate at all.  Now I have zero interest left.

He may have gained some small approval in Iowa, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that just lost all respect for him.  Unless this is completely forgotten and not brought up again I suspect he just threw away his already slim chances in 2016.

EDIT: Not that I can think of anyone else who could possibly be the next Republican president, though.  There simply aren't any Republicans with any charismatic qualities to them while the Democrats are overall disliked but have a few charismatic folks still running around the party.  I suspect we're in for at least four more years of a Democratic presidency even while they lose even more seats in congress.  Probably eight.

Fuck Iowa.  Fuck Iowa up the ass.  I hope it gets nuked off the face of the planet.

According to the Humane Society of the United States, nine other states are moving away from the practice, while companies like McDonald's, Wendy's, Safeway and Burger King are discontinuing the crates from their supply chains.

The food industry is jumping ship.  You'd think Christie would follow.

Other than taking on the teachers unions, Chrsitie is pretty much a moderate Democrat.

< Bernie might be > to the left of FDR, but goddamn, I like his drug policy.
QUOTE
But future marijuana-legalization scholars won't soon forget the first presidential candidate to publicly support removing marijuana from the government's list of dangerous drugs. It currently resides on that list; Sanders wants it off entirely, which is a political turning point in our relationship with pot.
...
"Too many Americans have seen their lives destroyed because they have criminal records as a result of marijuana use," he said, according to The Washington Post's John Wagner and Christopher Ingraham. “That’s wrong. That has got to change.”

What Sanders is calling for is not legalization. But the policy implications of removing pot entirely from the government's schedule of controlled substances would be big: States would be allowed to legalize it without interference from Washington, it would help economies involving pot (like banking) grow without fear of prosecution from the federal government, and fewer people would go to jail for possessing marijuana.

I'll say this directly: if you think marijuana needs to be a Schedule I drug, you are retarded.  As in "you have a mental handicap which prevents normal reasoning that sane people have mastered."

Merge deletes the poll apparently.

Back to the topic at hand, I find it interesting that the MSM is really pushing this "Trump loses lead in polls" story. It's only one poll, and other polls that have just as much credibility still have him in the lead, one by as many as 14 points.

No MSN bias...no sir!

< Anthony Bourdain doesn't understand the difference between migrant workers and illegal aliens. >

It's really a shame that EVERY restaurant in the U.S. will close instead of the jobs in question becoming worth having. You know, like if they paid legal wages and maybe had benefits?

So many people arguing for illegal immigrants just want cheap labor (slaves).

Someone said it's ok because it is good for our economy to have workers to exploit.
