In one of the Douglas Adams books, there was a side character who, unbeknownst to him, was Thor, God of Thunder. It rained every day of his life, wherever he was, because the clouds were just so happy to see the Thunder God. This man was horribly depressed.I got to thinking about it today: in the last 10 years, since i have been growing big vegetable gardens and paying attention to such things, I have lived in Nebraska, North Carolina, and Ohio. 7 of those 10 years, no matter where I was, there have been long droughts through the summer months. I only mention it because my house hasn;t seen rain in almost 2 weeks. It will be raining 10 miles away in every direction, but strange wind patterns blow that shit around me. I have been watching that phenomenon in 3 different states. And now that I further think about it, at least one of those years with no droughts was in NC, and that was the summer we had 3 hurricanes in a row come through... 2005, I believe. It stopped raining from one and the other started the next day. So that hardly counts... one of my rivals for the Sun Throne was trying to smite me. Posted by Malcolm on May 09 2013,12:44
Eh. Weird coincidence happens all the time.Used to live in Missouri ... donkey Senator from there died in a plane crash. Move to Minnesota a couple years later .... donkey Senator from there dies in a plane crash. Was making a couple long drives on separate occasions, from Minneapolis to Illinois, second was Minneapolis to Missouri. Big-ass rain storms come down on me as the sky opens up. Quickly checking satellite images from someone's smartphone kind of irked me, because the storm was in a shape just perfectly so that it covered goddamn near the entire driving route from one city to the next.
