We might as well get ready for it. There's no Republican that can seriously challenge him anyway.

Buy gold, buy MREs.

Agreed.

The Republicans should focus on taking Congress because they're not winning the presidency.

They're in the same boat as the Dems in 2004.

Awwww don't say this.  At least allow me the comfort of cognitive dissonance that the worst president in history won't get 95% of the black vote in 2012 making it impossible for him to lose.

You really think he's worse than Bush?  That's a pretty high hurdle.

I think it's easily achievable for him. His socialist policies have done serious financial harm to the country, more so than Bush. However, like Bush, I genuinely believe he feels he's doing the right things. So I don't hate the man.

Where he fails in my eyes, is his complete arrogance, and the force feeding of his beliefs onto us.
-The disgusting hotline to report people.
-The Democrat controlled Congress and Obama that pushed things through without even pretending to work with Republicans.
-The constant reminders by his administration, party, and fellow assholes like Gore telling us that they're right and if we disagree it's because we're stupid, racists, right wing nutjobs, etc.

I could go on, but let me sum up with this one point that really damns him in my eyes:
Bush was universally hated by the MSM, and I'd say his image is equal, if not better, than Obama's who the MSM treats as the messiah. I think that's a great indicator of just how bad a leader Obama truly is...

I really wish someone in the MSM had the balls to point out that hypocritical bullshit.

I don't know; what has Obama done differently, beside appoint a different flavor of Statist judges?

He's still not even close to the coveted "worst prez in history" title.

No way is Obama the worst President in American history.  Perhaps in our lifetimes, sure.  But he certainly doesn't beat out Harding or Woodrow Wilson for worst President.  And several others were at least just as bad.

Did several others, besides Lincoln, have people planning for the country's collapse when there was no real outside enemy threatening it?  I assume that's what Thib meant by "Buy gold and MREs."  Certainly this debt we are carrying is unprecedented, and our representatives don't seem to care, at all, and absolutely refuse to cut spending enough to even pretend to think something needs to be done.

I'm pretty sure every President has had some group of people somewhere planning for how to survive the downfall of the nation after the guy they hated so much got elected and will now destroy everything with his evil incompetence.  Except maybe George Washington.

EDIT: On second thought, not even Washington is an exception to this.  I'm sure there were British sympathizers around that were sure the new American government was going to be bankrupt and useless within a couple of years and then we'd all have to go crawling back to King George for help.

Sometimes I really do get weary of arguing.

At least offer me some hope that things aren't as fucked as they seem.

I like arguing.  I sometimes say things just to argue, to try out an argument.

Things are bad, but it's not really the president's fault.  Things will improve on their own.  All we really need is the Congress to pass a balanced/balanced-leaning budget.  And even if they don't, Mexico isn't that far away and Spanish is easy to learn.

Posted by GORDON on May 17 2011,14:19
Spanish isn't expressive enough.  I've seen better prose from Koko the ape.

But that's exactly what I'm doing!

You seem to want to say this is the worst things have ever been.  That it's never been this bad before.

I'm saying that it's always been like this to someone somewhere all throughout history.  That there is nothing new under the sun and someone always thinks the world is about to end.  So cheer up!  Everyone else who's thought that has been wrong - except maybe a handful living at one time in Pompei - so you're probably wrong, too.  :)

< Obama pissing off crazy Negro commies >.

But really, why would he care? It's not like they're going to vote Republican.
