And I just don't mean alittle. Was asleep for an hour last night before the wife wakes me at midnight. She missed our driveway. I'm talking by 15 feet and is wedged in a ditch. Of course the only time we see a cop in town is right now. I probably rieke of beer from cocktails earlier. So I end up with a ticket for expired plates even tho I have that years sticker on the vehicle. My sister has to call a family member for a tow out.
So today I have to go to the ODMV and ask for proof that I paid for plates last year. On March 2nd I get to drive 30 miles to court to explain how the state fucked up. I think this fucked up computerized world should take a long suck off my left nut.
I didn't sleep worth a damn either.

Should have know. It is the BMV here in Ohio. She said the plates are for a car I own. I said why would I buy plates for a car that hasn't ran in over a year. I bought plates for the jeep why wife has been driving for over a year. Well it was probably osted on the screen and the person it enter by mistake. It is your fault for not catching it.
WTF. Never your fault. No responciblilty on the companys part. So I paid the 20$ late fee and bought the plates. So where the fuck does it become the companies fault. Never.
A the car hasn't run in over a year.
B If I was going to cheat I sure as hell wouldn't have stuck the sticker to the wrong plate I would have scotched taped i until I could have switched them.
C This isn't my first rodeo you know.

Is there anything about the original transaction you can use to show you thought you were registering the proper vehicle?  For example did you pay with a check and if so what did you put on the memo line?  Did it come with documentation that you are supposed to put in the car, that you then carried in the wrong car and presented to the officer unaware that those documents were wrong?  Anything like that that you can tell to the judge when it comes time to deal with the ticket to demonstrate your intent for that registration was to be for the correct car?

As to the registration fees charged on the wrong car, there you just have to eat the cost I'm afraid.  Unless you want to sue the state/county for the cash, but it's probably not worth the effort.
