When I get dressed in the morning I like to throw on The Weather Channel for obvious reasons.

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but they've gotten really cozy with the NBC news crew lately. No surprise since I believe they're owned by the same parent company.

However, NBC's left leaning political views are starting to spill over into the fucking weather, and that's getting to be irritating as hell. Can I please get some facts about weather reported to me without political slant?

Why am I even seeing news on The Weather Channel? If I wanted news, I wouldn't be turning on THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!!

Anyway, I know I mentioned here recently that I thought it was funny that the extended Bush tax cuts were called "Obama's tax cuts", but today's headline was so ridiculously ignorant or biased, take your pick:

"Obama's New Reality: Republicans in control in DC"

WTF? Since when does controlling the House mean you control the entire government?

I've been noticing this a bit as well.  Seems like the smear machine for the 2012 elections is already starting up.  Notice how Palin still makes "look how stupid she is" headlines once a week, in spite of her... not really doing anything?

If I didn't despise her so much, I might have some sympathy.
Posted by GORDON on Jan. 03 2011,09:12
I've been trying to analyze that phenomenon.  Sort of a mutated Bush Derangement Syndrome, yet this is PDS.
Posted by Malcolm on Jan. 03 2011,09:20
No, I legitimately don't like her on her own merits.
Posted by GORDON on Jan. 03 2011,09:24
All righty.

Tens of millions of people have a visceral hatred of Palin.  Ten of millions of people had a visceral hatred of Joe the Plumber, who was vetted harder than Obama was, based solely on his merits, too.

There is a serious (Insert right-wing personage) Derangement Syndrome in this country, and the next wave is already starting.  It is spilling over into the weather (underground) channel.  It is tiresome.  It would be awesome if I wasn't subjected to demented and deranged political ravings every time I turn around.

Posted by Malcolm on Jan. 03 2011,09:46
It'd also be awesome if my TV shows and web surfing weren't interrupted with obnoxious and overly garish adverts.  Some shit's just been around since the dawn of time, though.

Well then I just better shut up and stop complaining about it, then.

Ditto. I have nothing against her personally, but I don't buy her. I think she makes stupid choices and really bad sound bites.

It doesn't help that if I'm not hearing about her from the liberals bashing her, then I'm seeing her on her own reality show or hearing about her daughter or her daughter's ex.

I think it's utter horseshit what the MSM has done to her and her family. She's not the voice of the Republicans or the Tea Party despite what the MSM tells us.

I don't care if she goes away or not, but I do wish she'd tone down her rhetoric.

P.S. Let me add that if the election comes down to Obama vs. Palin, Palin will get my vote. I should also add that if the MSM thinks she's going to be the candidate against Obama, they're nuts.

This is a both-sided derangement syndrome.  "Obama is Muslim.  Obama isn't American.  Obama is a terrorist." blah blah blah

I've never said any of those things.

I've just said he's a shitty president.

From what I saw Palin was a good governor, until she got sued out of office.

Word on the street is the "left" is going to vote for Palin like crazy in the primaries, because they WANT her running against Obama.

Can registered Dems vote in Republican primaries? I didn't think they could.

It won't matter even if they can. Do you have any idea how massive an effort would have to be to organize enough votes to get her victories in states that matter, and do it discreetly enough that nobody finds out you're rigging elections?

I didn't say YOU were saying those things, I'm saying that people on both sides are saying insane things about the other.

At any rate, she seems to be way out of her league on a national stage.  She's not a complete idiot, the way some make her out to be, but she's not super bright either.

I hope Palin isn't the republican nominee in 2012, because I don't think she can win.

That being said, I automatically tend to like anyone that sends the left into such a hissy fit.

Posted by TheCatt on Jan. 03 2011,12:17
I don't think she can win... and even against Obama, I don't know if I would vote for her.

I'll stage a write-in campaign for Mr. T before I vote for either.

I pity the fool that don't vote for T!!!

He sticks to his origins. Heard there use to be a tape of him on youtube before the government covered it up of him running down a wildabeast and killing it with a spear.

Not nearly enough to make up for the various other things she's done.

I would imagine a lot of bickering if you ever got Palin and Cheney together.

But I'd love to hang with either, separately.
