My son's school had a "lockdown" drill yesterday.  Maybe I'm just a dumb redneck, but this whole concept of "lockdown" seems kind of stupid to me.  "Oh no, there's a guy with a gun in the building!  Better not try to LEAVE THE FUCKING BUILDING!"

I told my wife, "the proper solution is to arm the teachers."

She said, "I thought you believe the teachers are all idiots."

She had me there.

The proper solution is to make lethal unarmed combat a large portion of everyone's gym class.

Unarmed combat vs. armed combat:  my money's on the guy with gun.

My kid's school had a for-real lock down a few weeks ago when the local bank was robbed.  In that case the idea was to keep the bad guys out... though I don't know how locking a glass door in the middle of a wall of glass will keep a guy with a gun from getting in and taking hostages.

Fine, both.  But your fists and feet don't jam, require little to no cleaning, and never run out of ammo.

I would bet a lot of money on myself with an M-16 vs. Bruce Lee 25 feet away from me, unarmed.  Even if the first round jams I will still have time to clear and get a round off before he gets to me.

But as I know how to seat my rounds in the mag so they feed properly, my shit don't jam.

If you can guarantee engaging your opponent at range in every encounter, go for it.

Revolvers don't jam.

You mean TV and movies have lied to me?

I would NEVER imply any such thing.
