Next game with a new developer.
Looks like they're going back to Batman's early years.

They've been pushing out Batman games every year, and this one was a prime example of that. I grabbed it during a Steam sale for cheap, and I'm glad because if I had spent big money, I'd be pissed. Not that it's a bad game, but the entire map is a rehash of the last game's map (or the one before it...it's tough to keep track) and they brought nothing new to the series. Strictly in terms of game play this was like Superman Returns: exactly the same as the one before.
The story is different though, and semi enjoyable, but short. I'm pretty sure a person could zip right through it in a single setting as long as you didn't get distracted by anything else. There's a moment where it's worth it too, but I don't want to spoil anything (it's in the middle). It does start very oddly where Batman is just an urban legend that nobody believes in, yet the villains are trying to kill...yeah... Anyway, the story is enough to move the action.
Still, I was able to beat this in a few days, unlike the others that were much deeper and had far more content. This was very "cookie cutter". Even the puzzles for the Riddler's story line were all super easy. There's a sequence with the Mad Hatter that is a 2D side scroller and the least fun part of the game. It doesn't last long though.
If you want to know about the majority of the game's play, search for Batman (and good luck there) in this Games forum and read my review of Arkham Asylum or whatever the other Batman game was called...(Arkham City?)
Anyway, if you like Batman or super hero games, this one would be a great buy at $5, maybe $10, but nothing more.
