Right, but when compared to the modern hoverboard it's pretty easy to excel in this space:

This has potential.  Given modern control systems you could force it to hold just a few inches above ground and have a limited horizontal velocity while maintaining balance for the user.  But that fuel consumption is going to need a lot of work.
