I'll start with the bad news: Jason vs. Freddy vs. Ash is off the board at the current time. Raimi has said it could happen someday, but not right now.
The Blob. I don't really get this one. How scary can they make a giant booger?

The writer's exclamation point there isn't happiness. Why remake Halloween? What could possibly be added outside of more gore? The lack of gore and kill shots was what set Halloween apart from standard horror films. It was the shadows and implied danger of Michael being anywhere that gets that film ranked in the top 5 horrors of all time. Leave it alone Carpenter.
Not remake news, but Godzilla gets a star. That's pretty cool.
Hollywood is out to ruin another series and character. Silence was great. The rest of the series has been going downhill from there. This one doesn't even have Anthony Hopkins cast yet.
And because nobody is sick of this series.

Now for the good news and the reason why I started this chain. I was sent to the Fangoria site by a friend and thought I'd pass on the bits above, but the real story is here.
I guess we'll know in about 2 summers if Raimi is serious or if he's just pulling our chains.
