For anyone who has it, Cake?, have you hooked it up online? Any real benefits outside of online play?

I really want more courses for Wii Sports Golf.

I want more courses too, but none yet.

Only benefits of online so far are 1) patching the system, 2) buying the virtual console games, and 3) crappy communications with other people you know.

Online gaming won't happen until summer or so, apparently.

What he really wants to know is if those controllers can be used for intimate interaction yet.

I'm thinking of picking up the golf game that's available, but I see that it hasn't received the best reviews.

Bah, that technology already exists for the PC.

Super Swing?  BAD reviews.

Tiger Woods just came out for the Wii, though.

Don't count on anymore courses. Nintendo said a while back that like Wii Play these are just tech demos and won't be expanded on any to be made into deeper games.

Everything can change of course and Nintendo can still sell NES games to people on new systems for $20 bucks so if there is some money to be made they make make some courses for you to buy but that haven't said anything other than no.

As far as online there is the weather channel and the news channel but if you can take your wii online I would guess you already have a PC so why you would need these. There is talk of a DS demo channel in the future and a channel for brand new downloadable games like Xbox Live but that is in the future.

I would buy a Wii Golf that had more courses and more difficulty levels.

Ditto.

I think ignoring Wii Sports would be Nintendo's first real mistake with the Wii. I can't stop playing it, my guests find it more fun than the only other game I have that features the Wiimote (Smooth Moves), and everyone I run into that talks about the Wii talks about Wii Sports.

Of those, the obvious improvements that come to mind are:
-Tennis is great, but could use more featues (Courts, opponents, refining the "touch" of the controls, etc.).
-Baseball is the worst Wii Sports game because it's all hitting and pitching. Beating the computer is easy enough and playing a human is pretty boring once you figure out how to make pitches impossible to read, and thus, hit. Lots of room for improvement.
-Bowling is, by far, the best "simulation" of the Wii Sports, but could use new lanes, animations, balls, etc.
-Golf we've discussed.
-Boxing is boxing and is pretty good, but could use some tweaks like bowling.

Overall, any of them could use a good story mode or any type of goal type gameplay. I'd have to think most of that stuff would be easy to add too since they really wouldn't need to fiddle with the game engine, graphics, or gameplay too much.

Yeah, I'd either release a full-scale $50 version with enhanced versions of each game, or $15 releases of each individual sport with more depth.

Either way, I'd buy.  I can't believe they're not working on this, but I also haven't seen any evidence that they are.

They are working on other versions but they are called Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario Baseball, Mario Bowling, and Punch-Out.

They may make more games under the Wii Sports/Play name but I don't think they will be more advanced since that goes against their idea of the Wii being something anyone can pick up and play.

Miyamoto and Iwata have been asked before why you can't move your tennis players or field in baseball and they said that they thought it would make the game to complicated for some and they wouldn't want to play it.
