I have always loved planes.  A lot.  So, I figured I'd give this a try.  I thought one of the videos shows people driving the tanks and boats too.  Haven't gotten that far though.  Have been playing in 'arcade' mode.  They have 'realistic' and 'simulation' modes as well.  In arcade, you are flying 3rd person and you point to where you want to go.  The plane auto flies itself.  So, as far as a flight sim. . . it has planes.  That's about it.  I'm guessing/hoping the other modes start incorporating first person and flight sticks.

In arcade mode, the action is quick and easy.  You spawn in the air.  The mission is to destroy enemy vehicles.  So, you shoot down planes to create an opening to shoot ground vehicles.  Or, you just shoot down all enemy planes.  Most of my games have ended with one side destroying all ground targets.  About 20% are by destroying one side's airplanes.

There seems to be a tech tree and research points.  The more you play, the more research points you generate unlocking tech upgrades and new planes.  You also earn 'lion' points.  You spend those to buy the planes and tech upgrades you unlock via research points.  Then there are 'eagles' I think.  Those are few and far between and you unlock things faster with that.  You can speed up research, unlock a plane, etc.

I have earned about 150k lion points, don't remember research and 240 eagle.

You start the game with 3 airplanes.  When you get shot down/crash three times, you are out of that match.  You can watch the rest of the match until the end, or you can bail and enter a new match.  I think you get more RP/lion/etc points if you wait till the end.  But, if you die early and it's no where close to being done, might as well leave.  You can spend lion points to unlock more plane slots.  First one cost 10k, second one cost 50k.  I have those unlocked so I can have 5 turns/planes in a match.  I spent some lions to unlock planes to fill the additional slots as well.  The next slot costs 200 eagles.

I have not spent any eagle points yet.

There have been a couple of matches where there was a level 12 or so player who chewed up his enemies pretty quickly and the game was very lopsided.  More often than not, the games are VERY close and come down to a few points difference between the teams.

No clue as far as the long term playability, etc.  But, I DO think a team of players could do well given wing men, etc.  There are 10ish people on each side.  You don't have to fill a whole side to do well.  One ground attack plane escorted by a few fighters would win games quick.

Games last between 4 and 7 minutes each right now.  More often than not, I finish the games.  As in, I don't lose all 5 airplanes and have to sit and wait.

Given the VERY small learning curve to play, it's an easy game to fire up, jump into a game (less than 30 second queue) and play.

Controls are:

Mouse to fly - plane follows your cursor and there is an aiming aid so you can lead the aircraft when firing.
W/S - throttle up/down.
A/D - Rolls the airplane.  But, it still seems to follow the cursor regardless of the orientation of the airplane to where you want to go.

You run out of ammo, but, you reload in air.  So when you run out, just fly around for a bit until you hear your guns come back on line.  You do not heal.  I flew for about 4 minutes one game with my right aileron out.  Scored 3 more kills like that.

Very easy game and pretty fun arcade flight combat.

Just spent another few hours in the game.  "one more fight and then I'm done"

Still thumbs up.

Learned that you can land at the air field to heal your plane.

They just added tanks to the game.  They are beta and only fight each other right now.  But eventually tanks and planes fight together.  Right now, all the tanks in the plane games are AI.  They add planes to the tank side every once in a while for testing.

I gave this game a try late last night. I had some pretty good success too. Got 3 kills in my first match and with the exception of a few matches I ended up in the top three on my team every game.

I chose good old USA because I'm not a commie.  But I opened up all four or so other nations within a few matches. Gave each nation a test run and they're all pretty similar so far. I'm sure they're all the beginner planes. I didn't try and kill many of the ground troups but I'd stay low to the ground and pick off others that were trying too. Pretty easy pickings.

I really don't understand the whole research tree and the different currencies at all right now. I wasn't sure what I was and wasn't purchasing or researching but I think I bought a new plane and it's OP, well at least it had a secondary weapon I could fire when my primary would reload and that's huge.

I think I'm at level 5 or so and I'd say it's a fun game. Dont know much about it as of yet but it's easy to play even with a mouse. Looks like there are tons of planes and it's free to play. Not even sure what the tank mode is all about, I'll have to do some research to find out more about the game. Good solid game, and when u put it in first person or cockpit view the game looks awesome. The sound of the engines roaring and guns blazing are pretty badass.

Scooty started playing this weekend.  Flying with other people is way more effective.  Two v one is good.  Having a wingman actual helps!
