If you ain't seen the commercial, they publish their CEO's SS# in the ad, bragging that their ID theft protection is so bulletproof, you can shout your SS# & still be safe.

Looks like the way they did this was masquerade as consumers to place fraud alerts on their accounts.  The credit companies sued, claiming they didn't've the authority to place such alerts & that it costs cash in extra processing.  

This does sound a bit like keeping your car alarm on permanently, though.  Or having "911" forever pre-dialed on your cell phone, just in case.
