Starbucks' CEO wants his employees to write that on cups and encourages people to talk to his employees about race.
This is an ignorant idea. I get his heart is in the right place, but this isn't the place for this conversation. This is dangerous.
All it takes is one argument that leads to an assault or a murder.
Beyond that, imagine the lawsuits that will follow. If I was a shareholder, I'd be pissed.
How can it go wrong? Here's a black woman being openly racist to another black person she thinks is white while discussing this very topic.

I loved three things about it:
1. She was being ridiculously racist towards someone she perceived as white, and nobody is focusing on that fact.
2. She is so used to sticking her foot in her mouth she almost no sold her embarrassment.
3. She never apologized.

This dude's biological father is black.
Even with a birth certificate, you'd have a hard time convincing most people of that.

Maybe it will get people to realize that categorizing people by race is dumb, like that woman hopefully realized.

I can't imagine this won't quietly go away at Starbucks. People are mocking them pretty hard. Kind of self aggrandizement to think that people need their coffee shop in order to broach tough subjects like race. It's pretty much all the stuff that the average joe complains about Starbucks being proven right.
