How are they supposed to find the eagles without him?

You'd think The Grey would've worked in a location instead of "you fools."

Good grief.  What is it with people that always have to look for a conspiracy in everything?

If you think that's too much, have you read the one about how R2D2 and Chewie are high-ranking rebel agents?

The thing is these sort of theories often actually work well.  The reason is often because of overuse of coincidence.  Some movie makers make way too much use of random coincidence to such a degree that it becomes completely unbelievable.  This is bad writing and it's exceedingly common.  The only way to explain events in a way that's even remotely believable is to start with the assumption that these events in fact are not coincidence and then figure out who made it happen and why.

Seriously, after their role in the first three films what are the odds that in a huge galaxy of planets to go to R2D2 and C3PO would end up in Luke's possession?  And right at the age when he's going to be ready to leave home, too.  Impossible coincidence.  But as part of a secret agenda...

Marvel has the famous "No Prize" that it gives to readers who point out continuity errors and explain them away no matter how ridiculous.

The "No Prize" is exactly that, and was invented by Stan Lee. They simply get acknowledged on the letters page.
