I thought this was mentioned in some car dealer thread but I couldn't find it.
Breweries in FL are forced, by law, to sell all their beer to distributors, and allow the distributors to sell to retailers. Â Microbreweries have a problem with this because that means they can't sell their own beer in their own bars/restaurants. Â They have to sell their own beer to a distributor, and let the distributor sell it back to them for whatever they want to charge.
Florida government supports that legislated middleman, quoted as "Fuck you, pay me."

That is one of the exact arguments the woman clubs used to get prohibition passed in the 1920's. The domestic abuse/unstable families part.
