This is the third story I've read like this in two days. (The girl in the Stuebenville case didn't commit suicide, but could be included here too.)
Essentially, they all boil down to:
-Girl gets drunk at party.
-Assholes sexually assault her
-They take pictures
-They post the pictures online
-Girl gets harassed by other teenagers
-Girl kills herself
This is becoming something of a trend. So much so that I would be willing to bet that we'll see someone proposing harsher new laws regarding taking/posting photos of someone while they're incapacitated.
I wonder if, since some of these girls are under the legal age, the fuckwads who did the picture taking and/or posting can actually be charged with making/distributing child pornography?

Also, one needs to deal with "-Girl gets harassed by other teenagers."
I've always argued that children don't have 1st Amendment rights. That could/should enable stricter monitoring of social media and cell phones, which is how a lot of the harassment takes place. Nip that shit in the bud.
Also, since Obamacare says that "children" up to the age of 25 can be on mommy and daddy's health insurance, we call 25 the cutoff for 1st Amendment rights.

I've not heard of a child porno charge sticking to a minor. Â They'd get labeled as sex offenders. Â But if they were 18 and she wasn't...

Oh yeah. Â That philosophy totally worked for the dudes I knew in high school whose parents lorded over them like goddamned hawks. Â Then, when those kids went away to college, they completely bombed their freshmen year.

I don't think it is the embarrassment of the pictures that causes kids to suicide, it is the harassment because of the pictures that does it.
Yeah, more needs to be done to punish the assholes doing the raping and celebrating it on Twitter, but the peer bullshit needs to be controlled.

Seems to me that possession is still a crime, and it shouldn't be difficult to prove whose cell phone it is.

So, none of them get punished because they can pinpoint exactly who did it? That is such bullshit. Awesome legal system we have here in this country. Why do I pay money to it again?
If only the citizenry could vote where we spend our taxes. Maybe each leech of a gov't department gets its own minimum base amount, but the individual taxpayer gets some leeway on his return about where the rest gets spent. If I'm going to be robbed, I'd at least like to pick the thief.

Again, this is the THIRD girl I've read about in two days who committed suicide after being raped while unconcious at a party and had pictures taken of the event.

I'd also like to add this is one of those cases where it's about as clear as day what happened and the actual trial ought to take all of a week. Â Fuck mitigating circumstances, fuck the age of majority. Â None of them see the light of day for the next 50-60 years, at a minimum.
Back in the day when photographs were invented, some of the Old West gangs went to pose for a group one. Shortly thereafter, authorities knew what they all looked like. Good to knew stupidity runs consistent throughout the ages.

A few of us have kids entering their teen years in less than a decade. Â This kind of thing is near and dear on our lists of things we have to worry about.
Lessons for my son:
1. Â NEVER fuck a drugged/drunk/otherwise inhibited girl. INHIBITED is not the right word... ummm.... someone not sober. Whatever.
2. Â NEVER take picture of you or herself having sex, or undressed. Â They WILL leak. Â
3. Â If you receive electronically that sort of picture from someone else, delete it immediately.
For you fathers of daughters... ugh. Â My condolences. Â Can't be too strict with them, because then they rebel. Â Can't be too lax with them, because then they latch on to the first older father figure they find. Â Can't keep them in the tower like Rapunzel, and can't allow them into a situation where they can get drunk and raped. Â I don't even know what good advice is.

Gah. I was reading some story about a confession bear post, and then googled confession bear, and saw something about amanda todd. short story: Girl stupidly showed her boobs to a b/tard, who then internet stalked her, got her to masterbate for him, then kept threatening her. Eventually she killed herself from the torment.
It's amazing how broken some people are.
