I think there should be a thread dedicated to the issue of how social media has changed our world. From news moving faster; to people pretending to have better lives than they really do; to things getting out that never would have left a circle of people previously; etc.
Teachers mock students.
If you're stunned that teachers make fun of stupid kids, you're an idiot.
Of course teachers bash kids. YOU talk shit about your kids, why would you think a complete stranger would hold back?
Of course, prior to social media, this would have just been an inside joke amongst colleagues. Now it's national news...

Just a thought. Those atheist scientific pin heads make claims that the Earth is something like 4 billion yrs old. ( give/ take couple hundred million ) but the universe at large is something like 10-14 billion yrs old. Ok, Sooo, if there's this one huge gigantic lump of rocky planet thing before the " BIG BANG ", wouldn't it all be the same age? It can't be both ways, this thing blows apart & swirls around & becomes " galaxy's" it's the same age. Might FORM at different times, but the matter is all the same. Somebody smart jump in here, I need another beer to think on

1st commenter im 39, my childrens father was 4 years older than me....our dna merged when we made children....they became something separate from what created them they are not as old as the people that created them even though it was our dna that made them....the moment they were created they became their own person.....easiest analogy for someone who doesnt understand

1st commenter and quite frankly anyone that would choose to judge someone for holding a belief system different from their own is only showing their own ignorance.....especially when their belief is based on tangible scientific evidence as opposed to make believe stories based on nothing.....of coarse I am a AGNOSTIC SCIENTIFIC PIN HEAD

Original Poster Easy 1st commenter, I could have lessened the bait, but probably wouldn't have gotten the reaction. Anyway, growing cells are not the same as inert matter. Take ore, melt it down, make iron or copper or whatever you're playing with, it's a new " thing " but the basic element is the same. Changed its structure but it's as old as ever

Original Poster Nope, cells grow & multiply, trace elements within are ancient. Not all rock was here at the beginning. Lime stone " grew " from animals, but the quartz & other bits were here. Point is, if there was one large planet, it was old. According to the theory, " big bang " happened & spun out & we see the universe as it is. The debris was still old when it turned into something else & it's getting older.

Original Poster If two tectonic plates drag against each other, ( lets go with granite ) , the resulting magma rises to the surface & makes Hawaii a little bigger each day, the " island, or parts of it " are younger, but it's still made from 4 billion yr old rock

Or are you of the mind that the distance from let's say the earth to the moon is the same in time as earth to the sun? I'm trying to understand the correlation between christian and atheist, and how you determined an atheist is a pinhead?

Wait. He's asking how we can say the Earth is ("supposedly") 4B years old if the protons and neutrons etc that it's made out of are ("supposedly") 10B years old?
