As the article suggests, can you spot the error before you read about it? I thought it was blatantly obvious and I'm amazed the refs missed it.
Having dinner with a college ref tonight and I'm going to ask him how this happens.

Two things: 1) It's more amazing since WKU was playing man-to-man defense, so #1 was just alll alone. 2) #1 did nothing, despite being wide open and unguarded.

I disagree. When 1 cuts across the key, the defending center takes a half step to his right, and stays there to cover a potential pass. No cut, and the center stays planted in the lane and doesn't have to hold off his attack because of a potential pass. Take 1 out of that play, and the center can focus 100% on the player driving with the ball.
