Fraud, my ass. The college offered a product, which was a degree. They delivered. I don't believe it is the colleges responsibility to promise... anything after the student's enrollment.

We have been talking fot a decade about this generation of kids.growing up with a n unearned sense of.entitlement, and constant reminders of how special and unique they are.  Occupy is what happens.

This.

You all know how I feel about college as I rant about it enough. Still, it's not the college's job to steer people away from garbage degrees.

Just like it's not Best Buy's job to tell people looking at a Mac that they're looking at a really expensive turd. If those folks buy the Mac, it's their own fault, not Best Buy's.

That's the thing, though, it is very common for students going in for their counseling and to get help picking courses to be flat-out told by counselors that they should focus on things like English and Philosophy because things like Computer Science and Accounting are a waste of time and they won't be able to get a job.  This is not just here where I am, but at schools across the country.  And the kids don't know any better, because this matches the bullshit that society has been feeding them ever since kindergarten.

It's the same reason we still have barbaric religions like Christianity in this day and age: you get them young enough and feed them your bullshit for long enough and they'll grow up to believe it so strongly that it will screw up their entire lives.  What we are seeing here is the Democrat Dogma-based version of Muslims rioting in the Middle East chanting Death to America.

Uhm...if someone is stupid enough to believe that, then I don't want them being my programmer or accountant...

I get your point though, and no colleges shouldn't be pushing these kids towards bullshit degrees, but they also shouldn't steer them away from them.
