Can't continue without funding due to financial blockade.

I find this to be odd.

Why do they need money to release their "secrets"? Isn't their whole existence supposed to be about releasing the truth to end government and corporate corruption?

Go to Kinkos and make a handful of photocopies, then send them via snail mail to the New York Times, the LA Times, Fox News, CNN, etc.

Yeah, I guess the entire torrent network went down and now they can't tell secrets.

But, I guess this is what you get when you release confidential documents from finance companies... suddenly you have problems securing financing.  Hmmm.

They do need a fair bit of cash to host the website.  And they put a handful of people on payroll not too long ago.

If they want to keep up their current operations they do need money.  But I do agree they can still serve their claimed purpose without it.

Just this morning I emailed my bank (BoA) to ask them if they could justify their actions against Wikileaks, because otherwise I'll have to close my account with them.  No response yet.

Dunno, but if BoA is really against that site, I need to open an account with them.

But that's the joke. These asshats claimed from day one that their entire purpose is about giving "the people" "the truth", and exposing government and corporate secrets that exploit them. They were "heroes" that were going to liberate all of us from oppression.

Oh, but now they need some cash or they can't help us anymore. Mainly because there's no free way to get these documents into the hands of everyone on the planet with an internet connection...

So please donate money so they can continue revealing secrets that, truthfully, haven't done shit to change the status quo, and has only put innocent lives in danger.

I just find it hilarious that a group who wants to help people spot bloating and wasteful spending has become bloated and wastefully spends. On top of that, there message must not be that important if they can't release it for free.

When's the last time you saw Spider-Man ask a person he just saved to give him a few bucks for web fluid?

Yeah, I'm not thrilled with Wikileaks.  But I'm infuriated by how the financial sector has reacted.
