Electronic ads to be placed on ... license plates.  Fucking pathetic.  Your car is forced to become a rolling billboard.

Had a friend in from Cali this week would explained to me that when he moved to California, he got quite a shock when registering his two vehicles.

See, he purchased one in Michigan and one in Ohio, and for him to legally be able to drive them in California, he had to make up the difference in sales tax. Seriously. Using Ohio and it's 6% sales tax (is it higher now?) as an example, because California's sales tax is at 9%, he had to pay 3% of the purchase price of his car to California.

This was all before he was charged for registering them.

So them wanting to slap ads on your car isn't surprising. Although, I look forward to the lawsuits from California drivers who don't want to be seen as promoting Viagra.

That's what made me wonder.  Do they have a list of "sponsors" you get to choose from?  Can you pick your own?  Do they assign them?
