Seems like there's a couple of definitions that I think are conflicting:
1. 80s Hair Metal 2. 90s Nu Metal
What y'all think?

Never heard the term before, googled it. Most sites even include 2000's era bands.

Well, even 80's hair metal had some differentiations. You had the ones who took themselves seriously like Metallica and Anthrax, and then you had "Happy Metal" with Warrant and Slaughter, for example. Peeps who would smile in their videos.
No one smiled in Metallica videos, when they even made them.
That's my impression of 80's.
90's nu-metal... I was busy working and shit to really be able to get an impression of them beyond their music, and MTV stopped playing videos, so I have less of an impression. The only vibe I have of 90's metal bands is of whelps sitting in grandpa's knee saying, "Look, I can play loud guitars, too."
-------------- I don't give a fuck!
