Apparently 'they' are telling us to be prepared for 2 feet of snow, and loss of power for 2-3 days, starting Tuesday.
Unk: prepare for refugees around your wood burner if we lose power. Calling dibs right now.

Weird, I hadn't heard anything about it until seeing this post.
The NWS has on their site that we'll see 4-10 inches by Tuesday afternoon with possible freezing rain or sleet coming then. They say more snow Wednesday, but no snowfall amount is predicted.

2 feet of snow would rule. It is never as big as they say it is suppose to be though.

6 to 12 between tonight and wednesday. More in Michigan. Freezing rain farther south. Am getting gas for the generator today. Have plenty of wood and blankets places to sleep.

It is going to hinge on where the ice lands. Now they aren't sure. So if worse comes to worse. I have natural gas to cook. Some food. But have decided to charge gas as an entry fee. Takes about a gallon/half to run the generator 4 hours. Can't run out of electricity to supply computers/TV. Need to find someone with satalite figure the cable will go with the power. Might finally hook up the feed cable from the garage to the house today. Won't have to run extention cords from the generator. Might be a good project for today.

Usually when these assclowns predict doom, the main storm misses us and we get a light dusting.

1. I have a topped off 5-gallon gas can.
2. I have 100' of extension cords.
3. I have some food, not a lot. Was planning on bringing some over so we can at least feed ourselves.

Just went to Krogers in Toledo and they are packed! Still have to take the mother-in-law grocery shopping after work. Hope not to get what they are saying - if I get stuck at home for any period of time - I may go crazy - wait - I think I already am!

So, if we get hit with a multi-day power outage, how do you keep the pipes inside your house from freezing and bursting? Do I need to not worry about it, or turn off the house water and drain it?
